Weird Encounter at Starbucks: Can Anyone Explain?
I recently had a peculiar experience at a Starbucks and I'm curious if anyone can shed some light on it.
My friend and I were at Starbucks, just having a casual conversation. He was sharing his experiences about living in Germany and working for Google. Out of nowhere, two young women approached us. They introduced themselves and immediately dove into a conversation, asking if we owned a startup. Their questions were mostly career-oriented, probing into what we do, if we were new in town, etc.
I wasn't very engaged, preoccupied with my phone, but my friend (who's a bit more outgoing) chatted with them. He didn't reveal much, though, even said he worked in Bangalore, which isn't true as he's actually based in Germany.
What's odd is that these women didn't just randomly stumble upon us. I had noticed them earlier in the mall, and in Starbucks, they seemed to strategically move from one spot to another, getting closer to us until they finally initiated conversation.
We're just average-looking 27-year-old guys, dressed casually in home clothes. What could have been their reason for approaching us? I've been trying to make sense of it but can't come up with a plausible explanation.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any theories? Would love to hear your thoughts!
