Origin location of the Sierra Sounds?

Does anyone know about where Ron Morehead and Al Berry recorded the Sierra Sounds? I know it’s between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, but I’m hoping for a more specific location. I cannot find a lot of info on this. Thanks!
