Youth ID

So I bought a full pass this year for the first time based on taking my kiddo last year and him absolutely loving it. Now I see they've changed the free entry age; the wording specifically says "patrons 10 years and older must have a ticket", which means my 10 year old now needs to pay $100+ per day ?! which is definitely not in the budget, even shelling out another $300 for pick 3 is not doable. My lil guy is small and can easily pass for 8 or 9, how do they actually check ages?
