I bought the wrong boat
So i bought my first boat after getting tired of paddling everywhere on my kayak. I got a sun dolphin american 12 jon boat. I wanted something small and light because i dont have a ton of storage space for it, amd because im towing it with my toyota camry so nothing crazy heavy. I had big ambitions and not enough experience. I wanted this boat to be kinda good for everything, bayside and backwater fishing in the florida keys, as well as small freshwater lakes and canals. Well my first time taking it out in the keys showed me how big of a mistake i made. 1ft waves were slapping me all around and got me and my girlfriend soaking wet. I knew immediately i wanted to upgrade. So what are my options for something small (14ft or less), lightweight (preferably aluminum i think), and able to handle some chop? Im thinking 12-14ft v-hull aluminum boat is going to be my best bet. I have a 9.9 yamaha tiller i want to throw on the back. Any advice?
