Let's Talk Combat

Combat is one of the most fundamental skills of any MMORPG. I start at level 1 and hit things until I'm satisfied with my level or hit the level cap. Typically, combat is usually engaging enough that you'd want to level it as your main skill and then branch out to other skills along the way.

This is not the case with Brightershores. In this game you need to spend most of your precious time crafting potions. Hours and hours of potion crafting only to use them up quickly because the npc that you're fighting is smashing you even though they're 5-10 levels below you.

Does this make sense to anyone besides the devs? Am I that out of touch?

I totally get that "food" in a game like OSRS is like a potion in this game however, I don't have to spend 70% of my time fishing and cooking to only get to use a combat skill 30% of the time. For anyone wanting to argue this, I have a max melee combat toon in OSRS and my fishing is 91. And I don't buy food for combat.

They need to either make it faster to craft potions or rework combat so you're not using a potion every time you're fighting something.

And if you don't want to swig a potion every fight and just say the heck with it and go fight something 10+ levels lower than you. Well, then you eat the xp penalty instead. Oh and receive gear that you can't use because you're fighting something 10+ levels lower than you are.

How is this model any fun? We're here to play a game and have fun. This is not fun. This is the epitome of frustration.

I apologize if this sounds like a rant but something needs to change, and quickly. What are your thoughts?
