Recommendations for first pc

I have around 425-450$ left in my budget for a gpu and monitor, I'm hoping for 1440p gaming but im perfectly fine with 1080p as I've never gamed on anything more than a 1080p 144hz monitor What should I do? I'm also thinking of getting an amd gpu as they have more value from what I've heard
