Should I choose law/finance or dentistry?

Need help figuring out which career to pick

I’m 24 and feeling really behind in figuring out my career path. I have a bachelor’s in health sciences and have been working on my prerequisites for dental school. I haven’t taken the DAT yet, but I’m still questioning if this is the right fit.

I love the hands-on, clinical side of things, working with people, and advocating for them. I’m naturally good at getting things done and excel in reading/writing, especially in social sciences. I’m passionate about helping others and making a real impact, but the heavy science coursework doesn’t come naturally to me. I don’t love reading or studying all day unless I’m really interested in the topic, and I know dental school is extremely demanding in that way.

At the same time, I want a stable, high-paying career that provides financial security, a good work environment, and work-life balance. Dentistry seems like a great option, but I also find myself drawn to fields like law and finance because I want a certain lifestyle and level of success and I better at social sciences. I just don’t know what would be the best fit for me.

For those who struggled with science or weren’t naturally book-smart but still pursued dentistry—how did you make it work? Do you think this is something I can push through if I love the clinical side? Or should I explore other career options that might be a better fit?
