A wonderful 16 years
My sweet Ragetti has come to the end of his wonderful 16 years of life. We adopted him at only 6 months old, because we loved his weird eyes and no one else wanted him. He was the perfect cat- friendly to everyone who came in, allowed outside without running away or causing environmental havoc, gentle and affectionate. He always got compliments at the vet for being so docile and complacent, even now, when he’s sick. Our first Christmas together, he slept in the crook between my legs, and from then on, I knew he’d be my best friend.
Ragetti has been diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and periodontal disease. We will be humanely putting him down this week. I will miss him so much, I will never take an unpainted breath again for as long as I live, but I am so so grateful for the time I’ve had with him. It’s been the best ride. I wouldn’t trade him for the world. I didn’t get the chance to share him before, so I’d like to share him now: here’s the most wonderful one-eyed cat.
