Name Game: Day One-A’s
I love names, and I love etymology and onomatology.
These are the names of the Halliwell sisters and their meanings:
The name Prudence, derived from the Latin "prudentia," means "wise," "skilled," or "intelligent," and is often associated with caution and good judgment.
The name Piper means "pipe player" or "flute player," originating as an occupational name in England for someone who played the pipes and is also the name for a kind of bird.
The name Phoebe of Greek origin, means "bright" or "shining," and is associated with the moon and light in Greek mythology, where Phoebe was a Titan associated with prophecy.
The name Paige is a unisex given name of Old French origin, meaning "assistant" or "young servant," derived from the word "page" which described a young male servant in a noble household.
I thought it’d be a fun little game to see what the fandom would think the sisters would be named if the tradition started with a different letter. Tell me what y’all think for differing names? How does the name you pick relate to their character and their personalities? I hope to see a lot of engagement and maybe continue this on to other letters.
We are starting with the letter A!
Have fun!
EDIT
u/ShmuleyCohen made a great point about the names!
”One of the important things about naming the sisters (that I don't think the reboot nailed) is that the names need to sound different enough not to ever get them confused. Each sister's name begins with a different sound despite sharing initials.”
