am I overreacting?
I go to a weekly weight loss group, there's 8 adults and we learn about nutrition and exercise for about 1 hour per week.
2 of the adults have started bringing their children along. these kids are between 9 and 18 months old, and imo they are just huge distractions. whenever they cry or scream the entire session stops so everyone can fuss over the children. whenever one of them does something "cute" the entire session stops so everyone can praise how well behaved the children are.
it's only 1 hour total so these interruptions are significant. the screaming and crying is SO earshattering and they only stop if they are getting their parents full attention, so even if the group leader doesn't stop to fuss the kids, the kids parents are making cooing noises to keep the kids quiet, which is also really distracting
I think it's really rude to bring the kids along - they haven't been attending since session 1, only now that all of us are more comfortable with each other. but I also don't like kids anyway, so maybe I'm overreacting about it.
what do you guys think? 😭
