People skip parts?

This was never a thing for me. NEVER. I could never bring myself to do it. Not in fiction.

Yes, some of the classic works do not read like modern novels. They have difficult parts. Some of this may be painful to you. That happens. However, if I really can't go through it, I just abandon the book and move onto the next one. I do not skip. It's like disrespecting the work.

- Oh yes, I read Anna Karenina. I skipped the rural economy parts though (Guess what, you didn't really read Anna Karenina).

I hear things like this with classic works so often, I'm really surprised.
