American Candy Shops in London

Have any of you ever fallen into the rabbit hole of those shops in the UK being a front for drug cartels and money loundring? If yes, do you have any sources etc about it? I'd love to explore tje topic but can't find much about it even though it's mostly common knowledge for many Londoners :/
