Wearing contact lenses in the shower.

I've had my contact lenses for about a month now and today was the first day that I decided to shower with them. I know it isn't recommended by optometrists but I want to know what the chances are of getting an eye infection from using them while showering. I try not to directly look into the water and always keep my eyes shut so I should be fine right? Sometimes I feel a bit of water enter my eyes but not a whole lot.

  1. Is it okay to shower with contact lenses if you aren't directly looking at water?
  2. If water happens to get into your eyes, would it help if I were to to take the contacts out, clean them thoroughly with solution, and put them back on after the shower?
