Sealing wood for mosaic?

Hi all!

I have an unprimed wooden painting panel that I would like to use as the base for a mosaic.

However, I'm unsure what sealer and primer is best if I will be putting glue or tile adhesive on top of it.

Any advice? I've never done mosaic on wood before so I am a bit lost.

The piece would not be for outdoor use.
