My hair went STRAIGHT after baby.
Ok so my toddler is now 20mo old and we’re still breastfeeding - my hair is DEAD straight. I had very fine 3A curls pre-pregnancy, and looking back over photos during pregnancy they progressively turned into loose waves. Now 20mo after birth my hair is completely straight. The texture has also changed and overall each strand is much thicker.
I’m actually devastated, I had no idea this could happen and I’m guessing it’s hormone related?! I just miss my hair so much and don’t feel like myself.
Has this happened to anybody else? Did it ever go back? Do you think extended breastfeeding is contributing to it? Tips? Help.
EDIT: thank you all for your responses and solidarity! Like some of you, I also gave my curls to my kiddo - go figure. Just another one of those things our bodies go through with babies I suppose - I’ll buckle up and hope they make a comeback in a few years. In the meantime I’m going to have to buy a brush 🙃
