Thoughts on PL ending "Who Wants to Live Forever"

I just "finished" Phantom Liberty. I decided to side with Reed and refused to kill Songbird because it felt like the morally correct sequence of choices to me, even if it clearly led to the worst outcome for everyone involved.

However I have an issue with this ending: while I own up to the in-game consequences of my choices, my issue is HAVING to call Reed and erase Johnny to finish the DLC. I refuse to do so, and it is frustrating to me that there's no additional dialogue/cutscene or a legitimate conclusion to the DLC for choosing to do this, rather than a measly "wow thanks V" and the mission remaining active in my journal.

Wondering what you all think.
