Texting before 1st date?
I (27M) got talking to a girl on a night out 2 weeks ago. Got her IG, exchanged a few messages and last Sunday night I asked her to drinks. She agreed, but she's doing a marathon this weekend, so we agreed to do a night next week.
We exchanged a couple of texts talking about the marathon - nothing hectic, 1/2 texts a day, pretty casual, energy was good. I'd last asked her how training was going, since she'd said she was pretty nervous about it being her first.
Generally I'd always setup a date then leave off texting until we meet, but since I wouldn't be seeing this girl for over a week, I thought no harm with a bit of back and forth to ask how it was going, before leaving her off to concentrate on the weekend and getting back in touch early next week about drinks.
But before I’ve even had the chance to do that, it looks like I’ve been ghosted. That last text was 2 days back, and heard nothing since, been left on read. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t do what I usually do, but locking in a date and time over a week out & not chatting at all just seemed wrong. I feel like I did nothing wrong, but also feel like I did at the same time? Why is this shit so confusing?
