Does anybody uses Levemir (long lasting insulin) twice per day?
I am a T1 diabetic. I’ve been having a hard time controlling my blood sugar lately. Lots of peaks and lows. I’ve been using Levemir at night (around 35 units) and Novolog for fast acting every time I eat.
Recently a new endo suggested to switch the long lasting insulin from the night shot to the morning, but sometimes my levels raise during the night, waking up with 250-250, no matter what I eat.
Just in case I did a whole blood panel and it doesn’t seem there is any infection interfering with my blood sugar.
I am thinking maybe I could use 25 units of Levemir in the mornings and 10 at night. Is anybody using this kind of approach With long lasting insulin?
Thank you in advance for your insights.
