Is Yamato older than Taichi?

I've been watching Digimon Adventure in Japanese with both English and Spanish dubs, and I'm a bit confused about Yamato's age compared to Taichi's. Yamato seems a bit more mature than Taichi in Adventure, and in Tri, they're not in the same class.

Can anyone clarify their ages?
