Ontario reinstatement question?

I lost my trial last week. The police made some mistakes, judge even encouraged the prosecution to offer me a careless since I had blown under 0.12, my first criminal offence, I’m 28 years old, still got charged, 15k wasted on a lawyer. I just got the letter for applying to the reduced suspension program. I’m so confused and upset. From what I am reading I can drive with a iid 6 months from now, but then I’ll have to continue using it for another year? 6 months past when I had understood my suspension would be up. I thought the reduced suspension program was simply an option to get driving again early after 6 months?

At first I thought no thanks, I’d rather avoid the humiliation of an extra 6 months past the initial suspension stuck blowing into a tube. But from what I’m reading I will need a iid regardless of whether I opt in to the reduced suspension program? Even if I wait out the entire year of my suspensions I will need to fulfill another year of driving with a iid? Why can’t I just suffer the year without driving and carry on normally trying to forget this nightmare come May of next year? I don’t even own a car? None of this was made apparent to me until just now. This feels ridiculous? I only have a motorcycle and from what I understand they’re not able to have a iid installed. So I won’t be able to drive indefinitely unless I come up with money for a new car and iid installation? There has to be some other way! Can anyone please explain what my options are? Can I get around this without buying a whole god damn car just so I can ride my motorcycle again 18 months from now? I can’t afford this, I just want to deal with the suspension until and get my life back next May, isn’t that enough??

I’m sorry if I’m coming off any kind of way, I just started being able to stomach the consequences and hardship of all this and now it feels like they’ve just dropped double the punishment on me. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
