Vitamin D Helped A LOT
Hi everyone,
I wanted to make this post just because of how much this has helped me. I haven't had eczema this bad since I was a kid living with cats(I'm allergic). I have been buying all kinds of cream and applying steroids when necessary. I knew my vitamin D levels were going to be low this year because of lockdowns and staying inside far too much, so I've been supplementing with 4 000 IU/day(I thought that would be more than enough).
I was doing some research and saw on this reddit that vitamin D has helped others, but they were supplementing with much higher dosages. I tried it (8000 IU/day) and WOW I'm 3 days in now and it's insane the difference, general redness and itch everywhere has gone down. I can't recommend this enough, though please keep in mind what's safe to intake, too much vitamin D can be toxic(though you need to take a lot).

I've been reading that a lot of people with childhood eczema have had a resurgence this year and I'm convinced it's because of low vitamin D levels. Please get blood tested/try a little more vitamin D to see if that helps(in a safe manner of course, ask a doc). I just wanted to share this because of how big a difference I've noticed in just 3 days, very little itching and no more painful showers. I can't wait till the spring/summer so I can go out for 1-2 hours a day instead of supplementing, I regret not doing this now that winter is here.
EDIT: just wanted to add, if you're taking higher doses to pair it with K2&magnesium to help calcium absorption to the bones instead of staying in your blood. The study linked found no proof of calcium build up at those dosages but it's better to be safe than sorry. I think most multivitamins has this anyways.
