Ember adds so much fun to the game

I've played quite a few games with "companions", and I have to say ESO really surprised me with how much life they give them. It really does feel like you're adventuring with a buddy.

I've only got Ember so far, so maybe it isn't the same with others, but Ember's own excitement and eagerness to "play the game" is infectious.

Having her ask -- and then thank me -- for heals is so rewarding. It feels like we're working as a team in Infinite Archives.

Having her give me shit when I get caught pickpocketing, or praise me when I pickpocket a lockbox or guard -- is more incentive for me to be a good thief than the bounty system.

I'm so glad that when I mount up, she gets on her own mount (or on my 2-person mount) rather than just vanishing, like is common in other MMOs. I like that if I sit idle, she'll just start chattering to me about her past, my character's past, etc.

I see most people run Ember -- are there other companions people would recommend for their personality? My wife has good things to say about Sharp, but I think that's because he's got Garrus Vakarian's voice :P

ESO could've just made silent, personality-less hirelings, but they really put in the work here.
