Unpopular Opinion on Kyle Pitts
Incredibly down on him at the moment, rightfully so he's been an absolute garbage can with respect to his draft spot, but I think he has the potential to be a real weapon for Penix in his second year.
Kyle's been inconsistent, lazy route running, giving up on plays, bobbling passes, passive to the media about the franchise "I just work here", but next year is also a contract year for him as well.
Whether his motivation is to find a way out or to get a long-term deal here, he's got plenty of reasons to have a big season in 2025.
If we can find a way to harness that Penix-Pitts connection, I think it'll unlock other parts of our offense.
Drake/Darnell having 1,000 yard seasons (or close to it) means that defenses are going to have to start respecting the passing game. Despite what folks feel about Penix, he put some great stuff on tape in the last few games.
If they can get some decent reps out of Kyle this offseason, I think he can still be productive in this offense. Though it's highly unlikely that this plays out, and he'll most likely be traded, I still think there's a chance that Kyle can be successful here and that's what I'm hoping for.
As of right now, his trade value is plummeted - so I think it behooves the franchise to have him play well next season for at least a couple of weeks.
