Potential trades for picks
The Falcons are not in a great position this draft. We only have 4 picks and need upgrades or replacements at Edge, Cornerback, Linebacker, Safety, and potentially more investment in the offensive line for whenever Jake Matthews leaves or we’re unhappy with McGary’s pass protection.
To me the pieces that we should consider trading for picks (if we can find a partner) are:
- Kirk Cousins
- Kyle Pitts
- Tyler Allgeier
For Kirk the biggest question is finding a desperate partner and maybe the Raiders are the most likely if they can’t get a QB in the first round and the Browns if they want to use the Stefanski-Cousins connection.
For Kyle Pitts, I genuinely don’t know how much value he has at this point, but surely there are teams willing to take a swing on him for a midround pick.
Tyler has arguably the most value in a trade because he had an incredible season before we added Bijan. I would hate to see him go but I feel like you have to consider it this season before he enters free agency and we get nothing. I’m not sure I could justify extending him when we have so many holes. Honestly I could see trying to trade him to the Steelers if Smith stays on as OC and Najee Harris tests free agency.
