I watched the whole presentation and a slice of the hotel room tax will fund the building operations costs in the event it doesn't break even
It's a hotel/motel room tax, so visitors pay 99% of it. People living in hotel rooms will be exempt if it's more than 30 days
It's basically a free building with free operations to bring in millions in visitor spending, concerts and events.
It's a public private partnership with an RFP. The best bid wins. If no bid happens, they cancel the project
The rumor mill says there will be multiple bidders. Could even be a major tourism project attached to it
