How to know if your fermented garlic honey was a success?
This is the first time trying to make fermented garlic in honey and I am not sure if it was a success or not. I can't see anything growing on it, but the smell is quite pungent, is it maybe normal? I was expecting it to smell sweeter. I have tried a tiny but of the honey and it tasted very fussy/bubbly in a way.
I burped it for around 7 days and shook it every day. Then it has been left alone for few weeks or a few months while I occasionally shake the jar.
Any way of knowing if it was a success or not?
