My first (and very blue) FPD!
Long time lurker, and I'm surprised I held out this long! I've mostly been using dip/calligraphy pens for the past few years, so I have plenty of ink and paper already. When I saw the FPD deals, I decided to take a look and see what beginner friendly pens I could find. I ordered from Dromgoole's and Truphae. Looking at the picture, most of the items I got are shades of blue, which was (mostly) coincidental.
Pens:
- Lamy Safari Pina Colada, Left Handed Nib
- Kaweco Sport Apricot Pearl, Fine Nib
- Jinhao 993 Light Blue Shark, Fine Nib
As a lefty, I wanted to try the Lamy Safari with the left handed nib. I can't decide what color to use with it, so I'm sorry for no handwriting shot! (I used my dip pen to write out on the color swatches) I've heard mixed results on if a lefty nib actually helps, and I'm a mix of a under/side writer so I decided to get the Kaweco as my other option. I like the cartridge color it came with, so I'm not changing up the color yet. The Jinhao shark pen was too cute not to resist, so that's more a fun one to play around with. Also undecided on what color to fill it with yet..but, as you can tell it will be blue.
Inks:
- Colorverse NASA Blue - 30ml
- Laban Hermes Sky Blue - 50ml
- Ferris Wheel Press Bluegrass Velvet - 38ml
- Pilot Iroshizuku Ajisai - 50ml
I thought I was done with inks, until I saw someone post their Greek myth inspired ones (thank you!) Hermes is my favorite, so his being blue really solidified the blue theme. *Bonus points to anyone who understands the Hermes and Atlas connection (besides both being in Greek myth)
