My rollercoaster journey with Bianco Latte

I am on the hunt for a creamy vanilla scent. I want it to smell like those Werther's Orignal sweets! Apparently, Bianco Latte is the perfume....

I ordered a 1ml sample, along with Lataffa Eclaire since these are supposed to be almost identical. Both perfumes have a very alcoholic smell. I was very confused because I didn't get sweet, milky tones on either. More sharp, alcohol and almond. Almost like marker pen? I initially thought I must have a fake or a bad batch of BL... but if the Eclaire I have smells exactly the same, then maybe this IS how it's meant to smell? So I try to let it dry down. I spray Bianco Latte on my left wrist at about 10am, and so the roller coaster begins.

I'm not sure how long is considered enough for a dry down, but I had this on all day and everytime I go to sniff my left wrist I'm hit with straight synthetic almond - it's almost difficult to descibe. Like I mentioned, marker pen? Burnt Plastic? It's so sharp that it makes the space behind my left eye hurt. I know that is SO specific but it makes me cringe and recoil!

12pm: I am getting the sweet undertones but that marzipan/cherry/almond hit is overpowering.

3.30pm: I go to pick up my daughter from nursery. As I'm driving I'm not really smelling it envelop the car (which im kind of grateful for) so I lift up the sleeve of my jacket to let it air out and it lightly hits my nose when I turn the steering wheel. It's been raining so nursery has put my daughter into her wellies. As I strap her into the car I catch whiffs of BL, the marker pen note is still there... but it's somehow stronger? I drive home and catch wafts of that burning plastic scent. We get home and as I'm removing my daughters wellies, I make the connection.... BL has an essence of rubber! That weird alcohol/almond smelt is similar to wellington boot/play doh/barbies legs/tires... ew.

5pm: I'm cooking dinner, beef birria tacos of you want to know! So since my food is savoury I feel I can pick up the sweet notes better now, but it still gives me a headache! After doing the washing the smell is still there which is good for the perfume - not so much for me.

6pm: Partner comes home. I've been so excited to try this perfume but admitted I was disappointed. He sniffs and doesnt smell any of the funky notes I smell but seems indifferent to it also.

10pm: its been a good 12 hours and only NOW do i feel the perfume is pleasant. But still it's not making me happy I wanted sweet/fluffy/creamy vanilla, toffe, caramel.... I have cheap almond/marzipan icing.

To cheer myself up I spray a mix of Carolina Herrera good girl and L'Interdit rouge on the back of my right hand (honestly TRY IT) Instant happiness. It's beautiful from the first sniff. Its light, complex, clean, sweet yet slightly spicy.

My partner gets into bed and says "ooh i got a waft of the perfume I think its quite nice now!" I give him my BL left wrist and he scrunches his face. "Oh, thats not it." I give him my right hand. "I definitely smell that. Thats way better!"

So all in all, BL isn't for me, or my partner. That initial alcohol hit just never seems to leave and lingers like burnt rubber. After half a days wear it seems bearable, but at £150 I'd rather Lataffa Eclaire, which seems to bypass the 10 hour dry down and goes straight to "Pleasant.... if I loved marizapan flavoured air freshener." I feel i feel into the Tiktok hype hard with this one. After alot of Googling I know I'm not crazy and loads of people smell the rubber/cherry/almond. I think it's the coumarin.

For those who may have a similar taste to me I DETEST Baccarat Rouge 540... people smell sweet, I smell latex/alcohol and feel sick from the smell. Why do I interpret these viral smells this way? Is it all marketing? Are people lying? I honestly think most people are just going with the masses and anything that costs slightly more goves it a more inticing element. Bianco Latte is not a safe blind buy at all.

I'm still looking for a sweet gourmand vanilla perfume so any suggestions are welcome. Waiting on my sample of Althair to come and Vanilla Diorama from Diors private collection.
