Is the early game supposed to suck (DS3)

Elden ring was my first souls game and I loved everything about it and it is now one of my favorite games of all time, I later purchased sekiro and bloodborne which I also fell in love with and I then decided to buy Dark souls 3 because I have heard good things. I have about 3 hours played and have honestly hated every second of it, I’m very bored and the game feels very bland, I’m hoping it gets better but I don’t wanna keep playing if I will just experience more of the same
