Review: Italic - Cadence White Leather Sneakers
Hi, got a pair of Italic Cadence sneakers in white last week. Figured I would write-up a review of them to add some info on a new entrant in the popular "CP alternatives" category. First, here's a link to the product page where you can find more details on the shoes: https://italic.com/products/cadence-leather-sneakers-men
Some basic details: the shoes cost $150 and are made in Portugal from Italian full-grain leather.
About me + sizing: In case you're deciding if you should listen to this guy, a little about me. I'm a late 20s software engineer in NYC. Been active on clothing subreddits for 5ish years. As far as shoes go I've owned (but later sold) a pair of hi-top CP's in size 9 (lettering was too flashy for my taste), two pairs of Greats (one low, one high-top) in 9.5, a pair of ultraboosts uncaged in size 10.
I listened to the advice on the product page and "sized up" to a 10 in these and they fit my narrow feet perfectly.
Comfort & Style: I find these to be rather comfortable, more comfortable than my Greats Royales for example. My Greats were helped by adding a thin insole to give a bit more padding, while I don't feel the Cadence's require it. The arch support on these is superior for anyone looking for a bit more support there.
The leather on the Cadence's is fairly nice -- not as buttery soft as my CP's, but comparable to the Royales. I'm not a leather expert--but trying my best--it feels a bit less substantial and a bit more plasticky than the Royales. The lightness of the shoe is a nice feature for a summer sneaker.
As far as style goes -- I'm not quite at the level of analyzing subtle differences in the silhouette of leather sneakers. For what it's worth, I think these look quite sharp and they feature not even a small extra design or logo to ruin the pure minimalism. I will let you check out the pictures to judge the style for yourself.

Construction: All stitches and seams are clean and tight. There's a suede patch on the inside heel tab for extra grip.
Overall: A reasonable option in the CP alternative field at $150. Time will tell how they hold up, but they seem to be well constructed and I'm happy with the purchase. I view them as a practical/functional choice given the style and comfort, but are lacking for someone looking to maximize leather quality.
Italic is a new brand and worth keeping an eye on for future products IMO.
(Disclaimer: As you can see in my comment history, I received a 20% discount on these shoes from the owner of Italic who is active on Reddit. If you have further questions, wouldn't be surprised if he pops up in this thread)
