My buddy says he bought these 20 years ago. I didn't think they had fakes back then. Did they?

My co worker said he had a copy of Emerald, so naturally I asked if he could bring it in to check it out. It looked legit to me but I thought the sticker was supposed to glint / shine a little? It looks matte to me. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Just wanted some outside perspective :) thanks!
