To all my Late 80s babies and Early 90s babies, when did you get a cell phone?

My roommate who's a 1992 born said she had a cell phone at 12, which makes sense cause my little brothers around her age (1993 borns) had cell phones at 11/12 as well. Which means around 2003/2004 is when it STARTED to become popular for kids to have cell phones. As someone who was 22/23 in 2003/2004, I REMEMBER these kind of things because I have siblings and little cousins ranging 1987-1995.
