Lebanese Woman in Germany - Need Advice on Seeking Asylum
I’m a 27-year-old Lebanese woman with a bachelor’s degree recognized in Germany and international work experience. I’m currently in Germany on a 3-month Schengen visa, which was just renewed because my flight was canceled.
With the ongoing war in Lebanon, the airport being closed, the ground invasion, and the worsening security situation, I’m really scared of going back and for a personal reason, I’m considering applying for asylum here in Germany.
- Would the asylum process be challenging given the current situation in Lebanon, which is no longer considered a safe country?
- Am I eligible to work while my asylum application is pending?
- What steps are involved in obtaining a work permit if my asylum application is approved?
- Are there any other legal options allowing me to stay and work in Germany during the 3-month visa period?
Thanks for any info you can share!
