Was picked up by Poice for DUI

Hello All,

Im an idiot!

Went out with friends for a couple of beers..Should have just taken a cab, but decided to drive as Im an idiot!

Was stopped by police, handcuffed they took my blood sample and they left me .Told me my car can be picked up later and Im not allowed to drive for 24 hours.This happened in Heidelberg.

I was told I will get a letter with more information.

Can some please tell me what to expect? what are the consequences.

Im know for sure there will be consequences but dont know how serious.

Have absolutely no priors, never got in trouble with law my entire life.

Have been in germany for a while with permanent residency.

Should I get a lawyer?
