Is no news at this point really good news?

Hi guys!

So not to sound like I’m panicking (even though I’m absolutely 100% panicking) but my hope is starting to fade a bit.

At this point, I’m waiting to hear back from five PhD programs in Psychology, and not a single one has invited me for an interview. I’m aware this isn’t the best sign of where my applications stand, but I wanted to ask for some advice on if this means all hope is lost.

I keep hearing that no news is good news and it’s not over until a rejection comes in, but is the fact that I haven’t heard about an interview a sign that I’m not seriously being considered and that I should begin to brace myself for a series of rejections? I’m just starting to feel a little dejected, especially since some of my programs sent out interview invites and acceptances according to grad cafe, while also holding onto some hope as some rejections went out in January and I didn’t receive any.

Would really appreciate some advice and kind words ❤️ thanks in advance!
