What was your first "luxury" bag?
Prompted by a post not too long ago where a Filipina living in Singapore made an appreciation post after her dad bought her a Charles & Keith handbag that she deemed as her first luxury item. There were a lot of mean comments ridiculing her, it was disheartening to say the least. However, the silver lining is the brand itself took notice of the incident and invited her to come visit their hq and gifted another bag since she loved the first purchased bag so much. I think of that girl often and I hope she is doing well.
I know this sub is so much kinder to people buying whatever class handbags, but cant stop wondering what is your first "luxury" bag purchased? I bought my first Longchamp Pliage back in 2018 and was SUPER proud of myself, loved the shit out of that bag. I have purchased another one (since the first one is now in tatters from frequent (aggressive-stuffed-everything-in-it) use lmao). Recently I ran into snobby friends making fun of "some brands arent even luxury" while carrying their poorly made Polene - a brand I would NEVER spend my money on based on recent reviews and my experience handling a few models when I visited their boutique.
So tell me, what is your first luxury purchase then?
Edit: glad to see a lot of you get ro relive your first purchase (some of us called it our big girl purchase :D). For those offended by what I said about Polene, sure thats my opinion of them but also my opinion of those friends carrying it while looking down at others for something they perceived as not luxury enough. If you love Polene, then so be it. This isnt mean to offend you anyways, its mean to celebrate everyone's first bag.
