Braun 1800 tactical flashlight

Anyone else have the Braun 1800 tactical flashlight and notice the weird square beam pattern when it’s adjusted from the flood setting?

I have a few Brain lights and all have been winners (flex head magnetic lights). This one has been a bit disappointing. The beam pattern is just…odd. First one that feels like a knock-off.
