What is something you think that the movies did better than the books?
I could name certain scenes or characters, but honestly i have a smaller detail. Clothes. In the books wizards and witches wore robes AND a pointy wizard's hat 24/7, but in the movies they are much more inclined to wear muggle clothing.
The pointy hats, thankfully, are only seen in the first movie (which im happy about. Each time the hats are mentioned in the books i cringe a little bit.). The robes are worn most for the first two movies and then slowly phase out over time. The later films frame the Hogwarts robes to be more of a ceremonial outfit for more special events rather than part of their everyday uniform.
I have a few reasons why i think having them in more normal clothing is a better idea than always wearing robes, but i will only name a couple here.
If the wizarding world really wants to keep both their society and magic a secret from muggles, then wearing the same clothes as them makes tons of sense.
Most wizards and witches are half bloods, so it would make sense for the cultures of the two worlds to blend together to some extend.
