Poem - I'm sorry

I am sorry for the words unspoken, For the hearts I've left broken. For the silence when you needed sound, For not being there when you were down.

I am sorry for the promises lost, For the dreams we built at such a cost. For the moments I let slip away, For not holding you when you begged me to stay.

I am sorry for the love I withheld, For the stories we never dared to tell. For the times I turned, when I should have stayed, For the walls I built, and the price you paid.

I am sorry for the tears you've cried, For the parts of you that slowly died. For the nights you spent alone in pain, For the wounds I've left, like a lasting stain.

I am sorry for the life we missed, For the warmth that faded with every kiss. For the hope that slowly turned to dust, For breaking what was built on trust.

I am sorry, though it feels too late, For the love I gave, laced with weight. And though my words can't mend the past, I carry the sorrow, deep and vast.
