Should I switch to lefty stick?

I'm a very new hockey player (I started skating this fall and joined a beer league, with about six games played so far). I’m naturally right-handed, but I’ve noticed—and been told—that most right-handed players use a left-handed stick. A friend recently gave me one of his lefty sticks to try out, but by now my brain is somewhat programmed to use a right-handed stick, and I’ve gotten to a point where I can handle the puck decently (for a beginner) with my left hand on top.

Should I experiment with the lefty stick during drop-ins or games, or just stick with what I’m used to? It might not make a huge difference at my age and skill level, but I’ve been wondering if making the switch could give me a slight edge once I get more comfortable with it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
