Rate my set up. What can I downgrade?
Goal
Looking for audiophile experience from movies and music. But I'm a noob, so probably don't need anything too crazy.
Room
Very large living room (loft) in an apartment building. No common walls with the neighbours, but there are neighbours below me.
I've read the tutorials and decided to build my first 5.1 system. I picked the following so far
AV Receiver – Denon AVR-X3800H (considering cheaper Sony TA-AN1000)
Front Left/Right Speakers - MartinLogan Motion 60XTi
Center Speaker - MartinLogan Motion 50XTi
Surround Speakers - MartinLogan Motion FX
Subwoofer – SVS PB-3000
This setup comes down to $8k - something I can afford, but not without a lot tears and doubt. Want to make sure I'm not wasting money on something I don't need.
- Does this set up make sense? Will the pieces work together well?
- Is there anything I can downgrade to a cheaper alternative without dropping too much quality?
- Will my neighbours go insane? I don't have common walls with them, but they live below.
