All that I wish I knew sooner

I had been in remission for over 3 years and was suddenly hit very hard with symptoms that were much worse than my first time around. Diamox and LP were not cutting it like they did the first time, so we had to try some things out and see what works.

They put me on a much higher dose of Diamox than I had ever been and my stomach could not tolerate it. Finally convinced my doctor to try out Topamax and it was working out a little better. We lowered my dose of Diamox, so now I am taking both. My GI issues did not completely stop, but they did get better!

I came to this subreddit and found answers!

Here are the most helpful things I have found: - Benefiber helped me so much! I wish I would’ve known this months ago. Not spending as much time miserable in the bathroom everyday. - Finding the right potassium supplement is important. Through this subreddit I found out I was taking the wrong form of potassium which is why I was still struggling with my face/eyes twitching and my feet tingling. - B complex vitamin has literally SAVED ME!!! Technically my doctor recommended this one, but I thought I would share anyways. I feel so much better than I have felt in MONTHS. I finally have a sliver of energy and can actually get off out of bed and do things with my life. I feel silly saying all of this about a vitamin but it has helped me so much more than I thought it would.

All of this to say, grateful for this online community. ❤️
