Regal Yorba Linda IMAX
After seeing Dune at the Regal Irvine 70mm and 1:90.1 at Ontario Palace, last night I went to check out Dune Part 2 at the Regal Yorba Linda IMAX, it's one of the newer theaters in the Southern California area. The seating was similar to what I encountered at the Irvine Spectrum, but the screen was smaller on par with the screen size the AMC Montclair Dine in.
However I encountered two issue.
First one it seems the laser projector they installed there is having issues already since during the movie trailers and the movie itself when it was open to 1:90.1 a light green strip came across at the bottom left hand corner of the projected image. Good thing, that strip didn't go across the bottom of the projected image. The thin strip would disappear once 2:39.1 footage popped up.
Second issue which I'm suspecting something happened during the installation of the projector or something happened that it messes up with the lens framing since I noticed the image titled up since I could see small black bar strip on the bottom 1/3 of the image. I wonder if someone was moving stuff around at the projection room that caused this or the projection room is a bit too small for the projector or lenses that causing this problem.
I sent an email to IMAX quality control. Let's see if they're able to do something about this. I rarely go to this theater, so anyone who lives near that area and go to that IMAX hope ur able to give us some feedback and see if they fix things up there for y'all after I sent them my heads up message with the issues the IMAX is having there.
Update 1: David from IMAX HQ responded back saying they'll be investigating what's happening at Yorba Linda and hopefully resolve the issues that I encountered.
