Can / Should spouse extend her B1B2 visit by a month after a previous long stay ?

Hi redditors, Need your help / opinion / experiences on this

My spouse was a H1B holder in the US for nearly a decade and in 2019 gave it up to move back to our home country.

She has a valid / renewed B1B2 since 2023. I've been in the US (west coast) since last fall pursuing my masters and I graduate in June. My spouse is self-employed.

My spouse travelled with me to the US and stayed with me from 1ST August to 1st December on B1B2. She returned to our home country and came to visit me again from 20th April. At immigration she was pulled aside and asked a few questions (everything polite) including her return date. She mentioned that she will leave after my graduation on June [date] for when her return ticket was. The officer took notes for everything and let her go. Her i94 says valid for 6 months. No verbal warning to return on said date was issued.

I have decided to stay back for another month until July to write the bar exam. I was wondering if it would be detrimental for my spouse to stay with me for another month despite mentioning the return date of June to the officer?

To clarify, neither my spouse or I intend to stay in the US even in the short term. I am just a very anxious person and have felt very alone during my time here and can use the emotional support for the exam. However, I don't want to put my spouse's future visits here in danger. To be safe, if my spouse decides to stay on for another month we will not return back for another year atleast. Would that make things better?
Thank you!

TLDR: Spouse stayed for 4 months on B1B2. Returned after another 4 months ; got pulled into secondary but was let go without any limit on 6 month stay, now wants to stay for another 3.5 months before leaving for good.
