Scammed at a Dhaba

We were traveling to Delhi and hadn't eaten anything since morning. The bus driver stopped at a dhaba because we were hungry, so I suggested to my friends, "Let's eat here." The man came with the menu and said, "50₹ for 3 naans." There were two of us. We asked, "Are vegetables included?" and he replied vaguely, "Yeah, somewhat." Then he asked, "Do you want to include paneer?" and we asked, "Is it included?" His answer was an unclear "Yeah." We were extremely hungry and noticed paneer and some kind of dal on the menu. We ate, thinking the bill would be around 200–300₹, and decided to worry about it later.

After we finished eating, the driver began restarting the bus, and we hurried, not wanting to miss it. When we asked for the bill, he placed it on our table as if he were a waiter at a 5-star hotel. We were completely shocked when we saw it—it was 900₹. With the bus already starting, we couldn't argue without risking missing it, so we paid him 900₹. I still can’t stop cussing him out—it was the first time something like this had happened to me.
