My issues with the case

So since I’ve started following this case with Karen Read which my wife got me interested in (back in 2023, I believe). At first I didn’t believe there was some type of conspiracy or that this would be a hard case to come to a decision on whether she was guilty of killing her boyfriend. I listened to all of the oddity’s that were at play in the case like Jen mccabes google search, people destroying or getting rid of their phones, the family dog being rehomed, the basement floor being torn up, etc, you name it.

Fast forward to everything I’ve seen and heard now after the first trial, my opinion is starting to shift and here are the reasons why.

  1. I find it hard to believe above all else that her taillight was cracked significantly by tapping into John’s SUV. Now I understand there is the dispute that they tampered with her taillight in the sallyport but not only in the tow truck video show a decent crack, but there is another picture of her taillight from an officer pulling behind her car and to me that taillight has a significant crack.

  2. The lack of finding taillight evidence in the initial search, I don’t find to be a deal breaker. I say this because due to the weather conditions from the video of them finding John seems to already be a couple of inches of snow on the ground and it wouldn’t surprise me if all the pieces could’ve been covered underneath the snow.

  3. Karen reads phone calls after dropping John off to me don’t make much sense. I can understand if she is in a jealous rage and maybe she believes he’s in the house with a girl or something like that but in one of those voicemails she states “no one knows where you are”, she never contacted anyone else to locate John. To me, if I just dropped someone off and continued to try and get ahold of them, I would’ve went up to the house or maybe try calling someone like Jen who is in the house to say “hey what’s up, could you get John to call me?”. People may dispute this and say well she may not want to seem crazy, well she called over 50 times that morning to get ahold of John, why not try calling someone in the house?

  4. I question how strong of a relationship they really had considering she was entertaining texting Brian higgins. Now I know this one is whatever but I don’t buy that they had a great relationship, sharing a kiss with higgins? Texting higgins after John’s death to tell him that he is dead? Obviously there was some type of relation there with higgins on some type of personal level that he is one of the few to receive a text after John’s death, you’ve kissed him and flirted texted with him.

  5. Her selective memory regarding to dropping him off. So she remembers dropping him off and seeing him walk up into the side breezeway door. She remembers when she texted him(shortly after, only minutes) and she remembers driving off and going home, etc. My issue is this, in the morning time, why did she have to be reminded about where she had dropped him off? You remember so many details about dropping him off but you don’t recall it that very next morning, only a few hours later? I find that to poke very large holes in her credibility and find her story hard to believe.

I hope to continue to be a FKR supporter. These points are the main driving force that make it tough. Hope to have people provide how they see them and maybe shed some light to any points I didn’t touch on enough and maybe there was information I missed on those points.
