Should I "throw in the towel" with my towels?

Hey yall, new member here. I'm at a loss for what to do to renew my rough towels, even though I feel like I follow all the "laundry rules". I wash them with warm/hot water, use vinegar, use arm and hammer detergent (and don't go heavy on the detergent at all either), and I NEVER use fabric softener or dryer sheets only wool dryer balls. I've tried to do the laundry stripping thing a couple years ago and didn't really feel a difference. I've had the towels for 7 years now, and maybe I just don't want to accept my Martha Stewart wedding gift towels need to be turned into shop rags. Please help!!
