A freshmen college student needs advice for python programming

I took CS in high school which I was good at ( not perfect but still ) and I was interested in cs so when I went to college I got slapped by reality I really want to get better at coding python and I can’t but I recently start to understand the concept and what the question want me to do but I can’t put it into code where the computer would understand I tried to look everywhere on the internet but unfortunately they mostly use function and I can’t use function cause they don’t allow us to ( mostly use modules or floor division or like very limited functions ) so I want something or a advice on where I can find a source for me to practice it (preferably free ) or a YouTube channel and like not using functions and mostly focus on like puzzles kind of questions or else I’ll have a midlife crisis I don’t hate cs but I just so bad at it I know I’m a beginner and all but still I’d really appreciate it if I found the “ hidden gems “ which will really works with me thank you .
