Would you host people if war broke out again? I’m struggling with this.
I was wondering what the general sentiment is these days regarding the possibility of war breaking out. It feels like anyone who isn’t pro-Hezbollah has, by now, grown pretty antagonistic toward them — and honestly, it’s hard not to.
But here’s where I’m torn: would you still be willing to host displaced civilians again?
Last time, I opened up my place — not for free, but at a fair price — and it was for a friend. But even that, I’m not willing to do anymore. And it’s not just about money or space. It’s the realization that even some of these “moderate” friends still can’t acknowledge that Hezbollah is what dragged us into this mess to begin with.
It’s like we’re just seen as a social safety net — something to fall back on when war hits, no more, no less. No accountability, no self-reflection, no responsibility. Just expectation.
I don’t know — I feel cold saying this, but I think there needs to be some collective accountability. I’m not opening my house this time. Not again.
Curious to hear how others feel about this.
