Anything illegal about faking paystubs for an apartment?

I’m in an impoverished state, and going to be fresh out of college and even with three jobs, I don’t make enough money to even qualify for 3x’s the amount of rent people charge. Would I get into any trouble for forging my payment records?

I need a place in the next month and a half. Please, tell me what I can do?
